Christmastide is what is traditionally called the Twelve Days of Christmas. Christmas Day is the first day of Christmastide, and 5 January is the twelfth day. During this joyful Christmas period, there are one or two Sundays, and the more secular acknowledgement of the New Year. The liturgical colour for this season is white and gold.
The First Sunday of Christmas is often dedicated to the Holy Family. When there is a Second Sunday of Christmas, it is sometimes kept as Epiphany Sunday.
