Category talk:Bahá'í Faith
Religion-wiki — for all religions and none
This category should be renamed "Bahá'í Faith" and not be left as "Bahaism", which is an artifact from the 19th Century, when the Bahá'í Faith was new in the West and little known by journalists or even scholars. "Bahaism" is an outmoded term and is not respectful of the Bahá'í Faith, whose members would never use that term. Indeed, it has not been used in scholarly circles or in library classification schedules for many years.
I totally support that unsigned comment by user 4.36.144.2 on 1 April 2006. Although not a Baha'i I have many Baha'i friends who tell me exactly the same thing.
Renaming categories in not trivial as I recall; Basically, you create the new category, empty the old one by editing every article that either belongs to the category (currently only 4) or links to it (currently only the Main Page), move the talk page and delete the old category. I'll have a go. Andrewa 04:05, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
Done. The main thing remaining is to clean up (probably delete) the old category which is now empty. Andrewa 07:54, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
