For whatever the reason, it was decided there should be nineteen months of nineteen days each. Of course that only works out to 361 total days for the year. Since a standard earth year consists of 365.25 days, that leaves a few left over. The solution in this case, is an intercalary period known as Ayyám-i-Há.
